Description

The course is based on the MOOC course climate.now and follows its contents: climate system and change, the impacts of climate change in ecosystems and societies, mitigation and adaptation measures. In contact teaching and tasks, the scientific ground of climate change knowledge is highlighted.


Learning outcomes

After finishing this course, the student

- has understanding about the climate change as as a scientific phenomenon

- knows the mitigation and adaptation measures available

- understands the climate change as human and ethical challenge, and reflects his or her own role as an expert working in the field

Description of prerequisites

Basic studies in Biological and Environmental Science (or equal knowledge) OR study right in Environmental Corporate Management Master's program (CEM)

Description:
Multiform learning course (3cr + 2 cr) is given in Autumn II period. If you want to take the 2 cr enlargement after finishing 3 cr course earlier, contact the teacher.

Climate.now MOOC -course (pass/fail), learning diary (individual evaluation, 50%), written report and seminar presentation (group evaluation, 30% + 20%)
