Scientific Communication
Description
A course for doctoral students to help them learn generic scientific communication skills, ranging from writing a research plan and presenting data to social communication and job searching. The course is based on lectures given by different speakers.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will know the basics in academic communication skills, including for example
- writing a scientific manuscript, research plan and research funding application
- understanding publishing processes from the point of view of an author, editor and reviewer
- acting as a reviewer in scientific journals
- preparing and presenting oral presentations and posters
- communicating research findings to a range of different audiences
- interacting with social media
- writing a job application
