Description

Introduction to neuronal network and systems level neuroscience methods. The course will cover the basic methods of cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, experimental designs, and applying signal processing in data analysis. Some hands on -work is done in small groups of students with different backgrounds in order to promote interdisciplinary approach to research. Students practice their scientific writing skills by producing a brief report of the experiment conducted during the course.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, student is familiar with the principles of experimental designs and is able to critically evaluate research reports. Student also understands basic concepts related to recording and processing of neural signal and how this information can be used in the context of cognition.
