Description

Jointly agreed number of scientifically collected and preserved invertebrate samples. The collection should include samples from one or some taxonomic animal groups or certain specific habitat. The contents of the collection will be agreed in advance with the supervisor of the course.


Learning outcomes

After completing this course, the student should be able to

· collect, prepare, label and handle scientific invertebrate samples.

· identify the sampled individuals of the chosen taxonomic group to species or genus level.

· describe the key morphological features, as well as the species diversity and main points of biology and ecology in the target invertebrate group.

describe and explain the phenomenon of biodiversity using the invertebrate group studied as an example.

Description of prerequisites

Basic level courses on invertebrate species identification.
