Description
Measuring techniques related to courses FYSP1040 Introduction to the theory of electricity and FYSP1050 Introduction to electromagnetism.
Designing and executing measurements and documentation of one’s work.
Gathering measurement data, expressing data graphically and assessing uncertainties.
Written reports of experimental work.
Propagation of uncertainty using a rudimentary minimum-maximum method or a more advanced general formula for error propagation.
Learning outcomes
After the course students will be able to
Create and interpret circuit diagrams and use measurement equipment to measure electrical quantities.
Plan and execute an experimental study independently and in collaboration with others.
Interpret experimental findings and assess their reliability.
Use a computer as a versatile aid in experimental work (gathering data, writing documents, graphing, calculating)
