Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, student will be able to
name SI units and describe their definitions as well as explain basic concepts of metrology, such as traceability, calibration and uncertainty
explain functions of different parts of a measurement system and compare different sensor/transducer types and select the most suitable for the application
measure electrical quantities, identify sources of noise and eliminate them from a measurement system
devise a simple measurement system in order to measure physical quantities and construct a simple computer aided measurement in LabView environment
explain operating principle of a lock-in amplifie
Description of prerequisites
FYSS6301 (Electronics part A), recommended also FYSS7116 (Integral transformations, especially Laplace- and Fourier transformations).
