  • identify organometallic compounds and their basic properties.
  • understands the electron structures of coordination compounds and their effect on the properties of the compounds.
  • understand the mechanisms of the most common reactions.
  • understand the role of the catalyst in catalysis reactions.

Working life skills

  • Capabilities for designing functional coordination compounds.
  • Understand the basics of reactivity of coordination compounds and use this knowledge to utilize compounds in chemical applications.

Description of prerequisites

Recommended: Basic studies of Chemistry and KEMA2140 Introduction to the Chemistry of Main Group Elements (or KEMA214 Inorganic Chemistry 2) or equivalent knowledge.
