KEMS454 Surface Chemistry and Catalysis (4 cr)
Description
Structure and properties of metal surfaces and nanoparticles, binding of adsorbates on surfaces and simple catalytic reactions reactions, factors controlling stability, activity and selectivity of catalytic materials, kinetics of surfaces reactions, heterogeneous catalysis, experimental and theoretical tools, industrially important catalytic reactions such as ammonia synthesis.

Description of prerequisites
KEMA2240 Thermodynamics and Chemical equilibrium (or KEMA224 Physical Chemistry 1) and KEMA2250 Structure of atoms and molecules (or KEMA225 Physical Chemistry 2), or equivalent.
