Description

During the course the student becomes familiar with the hydrometallurgical methods used for the recovery of various raw materials: dissolution, precipitation, ion exchange and liquid-liquid extraction. The recovery methods will be reviewed using practical examples and the theory of the methods will be studied through exercises.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student has an overview of the different recovery methods and their differences, as well as their suitability for different applications. The student is able to design appropriate recovery experiments and calculate adsorption capacity and extraction isotherms from experimental results.

Working life skills

After completing the course the student is familiar with different recovery techniques and understands their application in the recovery of different raw materials. The student will be able to plan a presentation and stay on schedule.
