Description

This course covers two highly important and interrelated competence areas, namely IS Operations and Enterprise Architecture. The course provides theoretical understanding and presents practical methods to design, operate and evaluate organizational IS function, IS service production and sourcing, business aligned use of IS resources, as well as IS and project portfolios. In addition, the course covers the topics of designing, building and maintaining enterprise architectures in various types of business cases and domains, and communicating and deploying enterprise architecture and its design principles to influence IS related organizational improvement projects.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the students are capable of understanding the conceptual foundations and theoretical principles behind IS Operations and Enterprise Architecture competence areas. They can also independently acquire and critically evaluate relevant information related to these areas. Finally, they know and are able to utilize some practical methods and frameworks to design, develope and operate as professionals in the said competence areas.

Description of prerequisites

Before taking this course, the students have completed their Bachelor’s studies. The students are assumed to already have at least a sound basic knowledge in Information Management and Governance, IS Development and Project Management.
