Description

How has the building heritage evolved over time and how has land distribution affected it? How do laws, regulations and zoning affect building protection? What different materials and techniques have been used in buildings in different times? How does valuing a protected building affect the conservation of the site?

Learning outcomes

- You learn the history of building development, from home to semi-detached houses and commercial buildings. - You understand how the division of land has affected the village landscape, the yard and the individual buildings. - You recognize the importance of laws, regulations and zoning in protecting the built cultural environment. - You know the construction materials and techniques of different eras and the methods of construction. - You know the basics of valuation in protecting a building and outline the restoration work that preserves the characteristics of the property.
