Description
In this course, you will learn to understand the position and responsibility of the supervisor and the impact of supervisory work on work performance and well-being at work. You will learn to identify the areas of supervisory work comprehensively from different perspectives and learn to describe your view of human and your leadership style. Content: Supervisory position and responsibility Supervisor’s and team leader’s duties and roles Theories and styles of leadership Leadership and influence View of human Motivation and encouragement Development as a supervisor and team leader Tools: Methods for developing supervisory work and team leadership in the work community
Learning outcomes
Course competences Business competence: The student knows the central theories related to different areas of business. Learning to learn: The student also takes responsibility for group learning and sharing what has been learned. Operating in a workplace: The student is able to work constructively in a work community and promotes their own and their work community’s wellbeing. Ethics: The student is able to take responsibility for their own actions and their consequences and reflects on them in accordance with the ethical principles and values on their field. The student takes others into account and promotes equality and non-discrimination. The learning objectives of the course You acquire knowledge related to supervisory work and team leadership and identify different theories and methods. You recognize the areas of supervisory work comprehensively from different perspectives and understand the position and responsibility of a supervisor as well as the impact of supervisory work on the work community. You understand the impact of supervisory work and team leadership on work productivity and well-being at work. You are able to describe your own view of human and your own leadership style. You are able to take responsibility for your own actions and take others into account and share what you have learned in group work during the course. You are able to create illustrative documents related to the course contents.
