Description

The main content of the course includes theories, developmental stages and types of play, support for play in multidisciplinary cooperation and the importance of play. Methods of play observation. Motor, language and social interaction difficulties and perceptual and attentional difficulties underlying various learning difficulties

Learning outcomes

Purpose of the course The purpose of the course is to learn how play and physical activity can support the well-being and learning of children with different support needs. Competences Professional and inter-professional activities in physiotherapy (Physiotherapist) Client work skills (Bachelor of Social Services) Theoretical expertise in rehabilitation and occupational therapy (Occupational Therapist) Rehabilitation counselling and guidance (Rehabilitation counselling) Learning objective You understand the importance of play in supporting child development and the possibilities of physical activity to support the child's participation in play. You know the means of supporting play in multidisciplinary cooperation. Recognise the diversity and underlying factors of children's learning difficulties and their relation to the child's ability to play. You know how to use play observation methods to observe children's play skills.

Description of prerequisites

It is recommended that you have an understanding of the stages of child development. In addition, you should have basic report writing skills, such as information retrieval and the use of reliable sources.
