Description

Basics of scientific thinking. Setting and solving of research questions. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research methods. Special considerations in research methods in nutrition and sport and exercise medicine. Ethical aspects of research, data protection.

Learning outcomes

After the course, student • is familiar with the most common research methods in health sciences • is able to compare and explain the use of these methods in different types of research • is able to describe and find ways to solve problems in conducting research • is able to explain the limitations of the research methods used in health sciences • is able to evaluate the ethical ascpects related to the design and conduct of health research

This course is open to everyone. Course is compulsory for Nutrition and Health Promotion curriculum students.
