Description

Digestion, metabolism and function of the energy providing nutrients (dietary proteins, carbohydrates, fats, alcohol), vitamins, minerals and other diet-derived compounds in humans. The regulation of the nutrient digestion, metabolism and food intake.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, student will be able to • explain the relevant factors in absorption and digestions of nutrients and in regulation of food intake • explain in general the metabolism of energy-providing nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and other diet-derived compounds • explain the functions of energy-providing and other nutrients and diet-derived compounds in the body Generic competencies • Critical thinking • Identification and development of expertise
